While killing time with iLike on Facebook and looking to see if some bands had Facebook pages (like The Budos Band and The Pimps of Joytime), I found my way over to the YouTube channel for Beatclub Dordrecht. And that's where I found the video below from the Soul Snatchers. And now I can't get the song out of my head.

Flashback: Brotherhood Creed - Helluva
Just reflecting back on some of the golden era early 90s cuts. Some nice lyrics here, including:
"She looks mo' better so I want her mo' badder than a big man in quick sand hopes for help"
"She's the talk of the town and I'm the reporter"
"Now she's mad because she thinks I'm violent. The treatment I get is ________ silent"
Still trying to determine if that's Martin Lawrence doing the seated shimmy bit @ about 1:09 in.
How Did I Not Know About This: Society of Seven - Hawaii's Best Funk Bank
Another find from SoulSeduction.com. This time the album is Strange Breaks & Mr. Thing, where track 16 is Superstar (Remember How You Got to Where You Are) by Society of Seven.
A little more YouTube digging revealed some promising clips about their early days at The Fabulous Echoes (unfortunately, JoeWuSeattleWaUSA has decide to not let you embed these clips, or even rate them for that matter --- boo, JoeWuSeattleWaUSA):
* Early History Part 1 of 3
* Early History Part 2 of 3

Look What I Found: Glen Anthony Henry - Fired Up
Digging through some older email newsletters from SoulSeduction.com this morning I found a link to Relax & Love by Glen Anthony Henry. A few nice songs on here, including Fired Up. This video is fantastic. He sounds a little like Hendrix, looks a little like Andre 3000. And the band - wow. Think they found the keyboardist selling sausages in the Alps somewhere.
